Jordan B. Magid is the founder & CEO of Unconventional Group LLC, where he leads an effort to make public art production a seamless process for everybody involved. In his role, Jordan has produced over 75 murals with some of the world’s best emerging talent in visual art. In partnership with a range of organizations, from Fortune 500 companies to local businesses, real estate developers and municipal governments, Jordan has built a reputation for turning complex visions and relationships into achievable action steps. Jordan was 19 when he started his first company, a 501c3 nonprofit that connected college students with high schoolers to create site-specific urban art. As part of this initiative, Jordan developed a public arts curriculum that was implemented in over 200 community workshops and in five Miami-Dade County Public Schools as an after school program.
In addition to his work as an arts entrepreneur, Jordan is the Co-Editor of a forthcoming academic book to be published by Routledge on the topic of morality & ethics as it relates to education. To Jordan, public art is part of the fabric of our community, and plays a fundamental role in promoting a more ethical relationship between people, place and culture.
Jordan completed his Masters degree at Harvard University, where he studied the intersection of human development, political psychology and social entrepreneurship. He received his Bachelor degree from the University of Miami with degrees in english literature, biology and chemistry.
